Jan's stay at the Cricket Pavilion

Created by Will 4 years ago

The Dorset Thom's (William, Yo and children x3) had the wonderful opportunity to have Jan to stay after her first longish stint in Hospital (Feb 2016). Dad had passed away (2014) and Mum was living at home alone in Cheriton Fitzpaine. For a time it was all going wonderfully but as time moved on things happened and I think getting slightly stuck on the toilet raised an eyebrow or two! Mum came to stay for around 6 months from March 2016. Mum actually witnessed Reggie walking for the first time. It was a busy house along with no finished bedrooms and 3 very tiny munchkins but we definitely wouldn't have changed it for anything. We're so grateful to Jan for helping with bedtime stories and providing endless entertainment. Mum loved Yo's Japanese cooking and I was a dab hand at fresh Mussels cooked in pan! We had trips out in Citroen to Weymouth, Swanage and Chesil Beach. Mum Loved a sea view! We even got the wooden bench from home in the back of the berlingo (just) and Mum was able to hangout at the beach side in comfort! some of the weymouth locals thought they had got an new bench! In the winter months all three children were introduced to the glitzy world of stickily come dancing which is still our family TV program for saturday nights in winter. Good old Chris would run up from Southampton on Mondays to help out and we had a constant stream of nurses in and out dressing legs etc! The local Hair dresser would visit which mum loved for a good old chat, and mum also had visits from friends and family far and wide.
